Gazprom PJSC and Rosneft Oil Co. said Friday that it has signed separated sales and purchase agreements for the supply of natural gas with China National Petroleum Corp.
Gazprom, which is majority owned by the Russian government, said natural gas will be supplied via the Far Eastern route.
The London-listed company said the amount of Russian pipeline gas supplies to China will grow by 10 billion cubic meters, totaling 48 billion cubic meters a year, once the project reaches its full capacity.|
“This is already a second contract to be signed for Russian gas supplies to China,” Chairman Alexey Miller said, referring to the contract signed in 2014 with CNPC for 38 billion cubic meters of gas a year.
The Russian oil company said that crude oil will be processed at factories in northwest China to meet the country’s needs for petroleum products.
Rosneft Oil Co. said the agreement is for the supply of 100 million metric tons of oil to China through Kazakhstan over 10 years.
