Shell Trinidad and Tobago Limited has announced that commissioning work on the Poinsettia Platform will begin in January.
In a notice published by Shell and BG International, the company announced that on or around January 6, 2022, “the Skandi Contractor vessel will be supporting subsea system commissioning activities starting near the Poinsetta Platform.”
The Poinsettia platform is the largest facility ever built or installed in Trinidad and Tobago waters. It is located off the North West coast of Trinidad in 530 feet of water.
The Platform achieved first gas in December 2008.
The notice continued the vessel will be working along the route via the Orchid Field in NCMA 4 to the Cassra Well Site in Block 22.
Shell said this work is expected to continue until March 31, 2022.
The company stated that once the commissioning work is completed, the vessel will return to Chaguaramas for demobilisation.
