How electricity generation around the world is changing

This story from tn the NYTimes shows the above graph previously published in The New York Times. The data, which excludes both imports and exports, is a 2022 estimate made by Ember, an energy think tank. The hydroelectric category includes other renewable sources of power besides wind and solar. The oil category includes fossil fuels besides coal and gas.

The New York Times also published graphs for the top 60 power-producing countries which have data available through 2022. Here are the total electricity generation graphs for China, the U.S. and India. Note that the current U.S. population is about 330 million and the current China and India population is about 1.4 billion each.
